Wadebridge (34007) Locomotive Ltd is the owner and restorer
of the ex-Southern Railway/British Railways Bulleid pacific locomotive
Nº34007 WADEBRIDGE. Entering service in August 1945, her brief
career ended when she was withdrawn on 7 October 1965 and sold to Woodhams
scrap yard at Barry Island, South Wales.
Purchased from there by the Plym Valley Railway Association, she arrived in
Plymouth on 23 May 1981. It then became PVR policy for rolling stock to be
owned by separate companies or individuals, so Wadebridge (34007) Locomotive
Ltd was created to fulfil this need. Subsequently space at the PVR was at a
premium so the restoration moved to a factory site alongside the Bodmin &
Wenford line at Bodmin.
Almost 25½ years after purchase, the locomotive finally returned to
traffic...................
