Wadebridge (34007) Locomotive Ltd is the owner and restorer
of the ex-Southern Railway/British Railways Bulleid pacific locomotive
Nº34007 WADEBRIDGE. Entering service in August 1945, her brief
career ended when she was withdrawn on 7th October 1965 and sold to Woodhams
scrap yard at Barry Island, South Wales.
Purchased from there by the Plym Valley Railway Association, she arrived in
Plymouth on 23rd May 1981. It then became PVR policy for rolling stock to be
owned by separate companies or individuals, so Wadebridge (34007) Locomotive
Ltd was created to fulfil this need. Subsequently space at the PVR was at a
premium so the restoration moved to a factory site alongside the Bodmin &
Wenford line at Bodmin.
On the 2nd October 2006 Wadebridge made a short trip under her own steam. The locomotive hauled a special train on Sunday 29th October 2006.
Wadebridge is currently at the Mid-Hants Railway. She will be running with the Atlantic Coast Express headboard at the Autumn Gala on 12th September 2009
