Originally made up of many small shareholders who contributed by buying
shares, there is now one large shareholder, The Mid-Hants Railway Preservation
Society Ltd, in addition to all the small shareholders. The day to day running
of the company is in the hands of eight elected and three co-opted directors with considerable
business and engineering expertise. Following many, many years as Chairman, at
the 2005 EGM Mrs Joan Henbest retired from both that position and as director,
at which time the Chairmanship was taken over by John Butcher
All share purchase money was used for restoration, now maintenance, work
whilst the funds for other expenses have been raised by raffles, film shows and
exhibitions with any balance going to restoration work.
Membership of the Bullied Owners Association also allows us access to a wide
pool of further knowledge.
